Jennifer Kidane, a Senior Biology major from Vallejo California participated in an internship with the MedEx Academy in Greenville, South Carolina. She participated in the 3rd Tier of the Academy, which included exam preparations for GRE or the MCAT.
She was able to glean knowledge from various experts in the field of healthcare and ethics and engage in shadowing experiences at Prisma Health with departments such as pediatric ICU, pediatric ward, emergency medicine department, and family medicine. These shadowing experiences exposed Jennifer to various parts of the healthcare industry that provided new insight into the industry.
Through this program, she was able to get certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Question, Persuade and Refer (QPR). Currently, Jennifer serves as a MedEx Ambassador for Benedict College.
