Iyanna Freeman, Junior, Business Administration Major served with Explore Charleston. Her placement was Charleston Place, A Belmond Hotel.
The experience allowed her to work in each department of the hotel, explore the different careers in the hospitality industry, engage with guests and clients, aid department managers, and assist with event proposals and banquets. Iyanna was interested in event management and this internship provided tons of opportunities to explore that interest.
Through this experience, Iyanna not only gained new skills and experiences, but she also made new connections and was featured in an article about the program in the Post and Courier, Charleston’s daily newspaper. Through this Internship, she was able to garner an additional opportunity with Marketing Resource Solution. In this capacity, she will assist with projects and events.
