Benedict College’s Influence
Benedict College influenced her life in so many ways. However, there were two important things that were highly impactful to her and they are being taught the power of her voice and the importance of networking. Felicia states, “the representatives in Career Services were my best friends, they taught me how to advocate for myself and to ensure that people remember my name. I was able to make lasting impressions when presenting my resume, during interviews, while engaging in community service and service-learning, or when simply meeting with other like-minded Benedict students. The Career Services office also ensured that we were able to interact with external agencies by hosting institutional career fairs and providing me with opportunities to use my ‘career dress’ to engage with the public.”

Advice to Current Students
Felicia’s advice to the current students is, “Take advantage of the external opportunities that Benedict College offers whether it’s through your major or another avenue, such as study abroad, internships, job fairs, community events/service, partnerships, and networking sessions with local and national agencies. Don’t just settle on what you see, if there is an idea that you have, share it. You never know where it may take you.”
